Review- All in all the Oskar unit is very user friendly and doesn’t require a lot of effort and attention to make a solid, repeatable brew. I am not much for anything complicated first thing in the morning, especially “pre-coffee’ which for many of us is a foggy and easily frustrated state of being.
The Oskar is simple, requiring basic prep work and resulting in a straightforward, approachable and balanced cup. Due to the full immersion brew style it possesses little in the way of nuance and acidity, so if you like your coffee heavy or take cream with it, this is a good choice.
The clean up process is simple, just a matter of pulling out the microfilter, knocking out the grounds and giving the filter and carafe a good rinse. It’s the flavors of the french press without the cumbersome clean up.
Buy it- if you are a fan of french press coffee and would like easier clean up.
Don’t Buy it– if you are looking for bright acidity and a clean cup. Look into filtered drip.
